The word Gigogne is an old and little-used French adjective meaning 'nested' (or stackable), which perfectly describes the Gigogne tumblers.  First manufactured in 1946, these tumblers were popular with school children.  For its exceptional design, the Gigogne tumbler earned a permanent place at the 'Musee des arts decoratifs' in Paris, France.

Bring a little bit of France to your establishment with this Duralex Gigogne glass tumbler. Manufactured with shock resistant thermal glass, this tumbler is freezer, microwave and dishwasher safe. During the manufacturing process, the glass is heated to around 700ºC before it is suddenly cooled by cold air ventilation.

The process not only gives the finished product a perfect transparency and lasting clarity, it makes it practically unbreakable as well.  Duralex glassware is at least 2.5 times more shock and chip resistant than ordinary glassware, making it perfect for everyday use.  The tempering process also improves the glassware's thermal properties.  Duralex products can withstand thermal shock of 130oC, while ordinary glass breaks from thermal shock at about 40oC.
