Stephensons has donated over £11, 000 to We Love MCR to date

In 2019, Stephensons launched our Paper Bee Straws in collaboration with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) to help reduce disposable plastics in the city for a more sustainable future. A percentage of every sale made was donated to the We Love MCR Charity, and we are still making donations from these sales today.

We are proud to support an organisation that works tirelessly to support communities in Greater Manchester, and we want to share with you some of the excellent work We Love MCR does.

Who are We Love MCR?

We Love MCR works with some of the most vulnerable people and the most ambitious communities across all wards of the city of Manchester. Although Manchester is an exciting place with plenty of development happening, We Love MCR recognises that there is still a lack of opportunities for young people below the poverty line and communities in the region, and their aim is to help bridge that gap and allow these groups and individuals the chance to help shape Manchester’s bright future.

What does We Love MCR do?

We Love MCR has various projects going on to support communities in the region. This includes their grant programmes, the Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund and Stronger Communities Fund.

Other programmes include the Manchester Young Lives Programme and the Ghyll Head Family Breaks

Manchester Young Lives has been an established partner with the We Love MCR Charity for a long time, and this organisation has helped support young people in some of Manchester's most disadvantaged areas for over 50 years. It helps young people with additional needs to develop the skills to access employment, boost their self-esteem, and giving them real-life experience in the world of work. 

Family getaways are an excellent opprotunity to reconnect and make some cherished memories. The Ghyll Head Family Breaks programme gives families with complex needs the chance to enjoy time away together in the idyllic setting of Lake Windemere. They can take part in fun outdoor activities together that will strengthen family bonds, boost self-esteem, and teach them new skills.
